Joint Session: Board Room Diplomacy
Learning how to be an effective director is both an art and a science. It takes great analytical skills (science) and board room diplomacy (art). The science is typically refined over many years of career experience but the art isn’t so clearly laid out to directors. Corporate governance experts will provide an overview of the hard skills needed to succeed as a director (private or public board) and concrete advice on the soft skills needed to be an effective director.
Mock Board Meetings: A Case Study on the Activist Investor
Corporate governance experts and scholars will facilitate a case study with LCDA executives. Session will explore what having an activist investor in a boardroom looks like, what it means for the board and what directors should do about it.
