This session will inform participants on what to look out for and understand from a strategic lens to be fully prepared to serve and excel in their committee roles. The panel will provide an overview on the general committees, their responsibilities, and the role directors play in ensuring successful oversight while adapting to the changing business landscape, expectations, and challenges of boards.
An Increased Focus on Stakeholders: A New Director's Guide
New Directors face ever-changing pressures from different groups of stakeholders. Pressures from diversity advocates, environmental activists, labor groups, activist investors, and their workforce, make work in the boardroom unpredictable. This session will consider practices new and aspiring directors can incorporate to balance the interest of key stakeholders while ultimately meeting the needs of its shareholders/company.
