LCDEF leadership will provide opening remarks, review core BRI Agenda, and ask participants to introduce themselves and practice presenting their value proposition (board pitch).
Building Your Toolkit: Refining and Communicating Your Value Proposition with Peer Exercise
This session forms the basis for the BRI curriculum series for new LCDA Members. Participants will learn about the importance of developing a board profile (resume and bio) that communicates the value proposition they bring to a board. Developing their elevator pitch and refining it to tell their story is also key to making the case for why their value proposition is an asset to the boardroom.

Corporate governance experts will explore navigating investor activism. What do directors need to do to avoid having their companies be the target of activist investors? And, if they are a target, how do they build a game plan that is in the best interest of the company and shareholders? How are boards successfully dealing with activist approaches, including proxy contests? How is the activism landscape changing and why is board diversity increasingly part of the discussion?
