LCDEF BoardReady Institute (BRI)
ABOUT
The LCDEF‘s premiere BoardReady Institute (BRI) is a comprehensive, in-person program uniquely designed to prepare and position aspiring directors for boardroom success. There is no other programming of this scope focused on accelerating the preparation, development, and placement of highly credentialed, Latinos who are aspiring directors onto the highest levels of corporate governance.
The BRI offers hands-on board preparation, immersive corporate governance content, personalized coaching, and invaluable in-person networking opportunities. The program is targeted at new Executive Members who have not completed board-ready programming. Program fee is $3,000.
The BRI curriculum was originally developed in collaboration with the KPMG Board Leadership Center, the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford Law School, Boardspan, and LCDA‘s search firm strategic partners - like Egon Zehnder, Heidrick & Struggles, Diversified Search - to assist candidates on their journey to and in the boardroom. Since then, our list of curriculum partners has grown to include UC Hastings' Center for Business Law, Equilar, Diligent, Spencer Stuart, Goldman Sachs, Carlyle, AboveBoard, and many others.
The LCDEF also offers an additional program for first-time directors known as the next-level BRINext. The BRINext is next level programming designed to take new directors through a deeper dive into corporate governance education with a specific focus on being an effective director during their first two years on a board. This program is targeted at first-time directors (less than 3 years). The program is offered virtually and program fee is $1,000.
In addition to the Annual Board Leaders Convening offered to all LCDA members, the foundation, LCDEF, provides additional virtual board-readiness programming including Coaching Circles, Mock Board Interviews, and webinars on timely corporate governance topics. Our virtual programming is open to all LCDA Executive Members as part of their member benefits.
All our programming is supported by faculty and seasoned Directors committed to their success and leveraging the knowledge and resources of their institutions to enhance of their learning and journey to and in the boardroom. Participants of the BRI must be members of LCDA.

Note: The process to get on a publicly traded or private company board can be lengthy and takes time and engagement on the part of the executive. The BRI does not guarantee a board seat, but it does provide executives with strategic advantages and LCDA and its foundation will remain committed to their boardroom success years after completion of the program.
