The influence of Latinos in the U.S. is growing exponentially. In Colorado, Latinos constitute nearly 23% of the population. Consequently, shareholders and corporations in Colorado must ensure their boards mirror the diversity of their broader communities.

However, trends show a troubling underrepresentation of Latino directors in Colorado corporate boardrooms, holding only 39 of 969 board seats in Colorado-based public companies.

Key Findings:

  • Latinos hold only 4% of public board seats.
  • 75.4% of Colorado-based public companies lack Latino representation.

As the largest ethnic group in the U.S., the Latino community is essential to economic growth, contributing $3.2 trillion to the GDP. Despite this, Latinos remain underrepresented in Colorado corporate boardrooms, highlighting a significant gap given their status as the second-largest population group in the country.
