Short Take: The Economic State of Latinos in America Report

Presenters: Jorge Amar, Partner, McKinsey & Company and Lucy Perez, Senior Partner, McKinsey & Company

The McKinsey report reveals that Latinos in America are missing out economically and, in a situation of full parity, Latino businesses could generate an additional $2.3 trillion in total revenue each year, and 735,000 new businesses could be created supporting 6.6 million new jobs. This is a missed business opportunity. Hear from experienced directors how they have modeled leadership in the boardroom to advance business and present investment in the Latino market as a smart business opportunity.

Latinos as a Smart Investment: A Deeper Dive

Latinos are an economic engine for the US and the fastest growing group: by 2030, 1 in 5 workers will be Latino. They also have the highest rate of entrepreneurship of any race: their businesses have grown by 12.5% over the past five years, compared to 5.3% for White-owned businesses. Yet the McKinsey report revealed the challenges Latino entrepreneurs face in securing the capital they need to grow.
